My ZHP (04, 62K miles, original clutch) has a light rattle when I let out the clutch. I dont think its the vanos, its nothing to do with rpm. If I stay off the gas at idle and just let out the clutch in 1st to start movement, there is a light rattling that occurs for about a second. No rattles with the clutch in or out, its when the clutch starts to grab regardless of RPM. Seems to be worse when cold.

I'm in monitoring mode, but curious if its an indicator of something starting to go and most importantly.......if the car is talking to me and I should be listening!

Hey we are actually discussing this in a similar thread: http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?5362-MT-work.

Some argue that a little chatter/rattling is okay so long as it's consistent. Others argue that it could be your TOB.

I use the Google search tip that I wrote about some time ago. It's the best way to search our forum.
