Anyone have a CAI they are looking to get rid of?

Hey.
I've got a new-in-box Dinan cold air intake. It's the old style; a true cold air one. But according to the Dinan instructions it won't fit cars with ZKW bi-xenons.
Let me know if you're interested.

Damn I have xenons or I would be all over that

Theoretically you could just ghetto rig it... Cut a hole in the bottom of your intake housing, cut a hole in the top of the brake cooling duct and run some tubing. Then all you need is a high flow drop in filter (AFE or others).

Just an idea, I would still do the normal CAI method

I am trying to keep ghetto fabulous mods away from this car I have done the intakes on my other rigs but I am trying to keep this with aftermarket bolt ons..... Crappy part is how much EVERY THING costs for these cars compared to something more common

You should get an aFe drop in and mod the stock box to pull air from the brake duct, with a length of hose, as well as the kidney grille. I think that's the best option for low budget gains.

What would you use a tubing from the brake duct?

Huh? What or why?

1-2" flexible tube from home depot

Nah...go big or go home! Get a 3.5" diameter hose at least 2 feet in length, cut accordingly.

Yeah, that could work too... it will be limited by what will fit on the bottom of the intake housing, you'll have to check that out. I would also say to fab some sort of cover you can pop in the brake duct side for rainy days to prevent hydrolocking

You're not going to hydrolock with this setup. The intake also has two openings, so it's not going to have vacuum to suck up water.

Forgot about that, maybe I should think of doing this too...

may have to spend some time digging and see what I can come up with... I'm thinking about maybe fiberglassing something up... I will have to play with it a bit plus it gives me a reason to use up some of this fiberglass I got sitting around
