I've owned this car for 2 years now. I bought it because it started and stopped, and had t-tops. Right after I bought it, I put new tires on, and had the engine worked on. My mechanic ended up replacing all hoses and belts (including timing), head gasket, exhaust manifold, and alternator to get it running correctly. It's run great ever since!
I've been tinkering with it off and on, replacing parts and generally tidying it up. The paint isn't terrific, but I just took a buffer to it and shined it up pretty well. If you can look past some of the oxidation, it looks ok. There are some hail dents here and there. The original hood was pretty bad, so I replaced it, along with the rear bumper and spoiler (newer LED version).
Here's the specs as it stands:
1988 Toyota Mr2 Supercharged
179,*** miles
5-speed manual transmission
– Short shifter kit
– Weighted TRD shifter
Falken Ziex tires with less than 3k miles
T-Tops with shades
"New" Stereo
– Alpine Tape deck (eBay special, but works great)
– 4 new MTX speakers
– Replaced the factory sub driver underneath the seat
I have some replacement/replaced parts that will come with the car including another dashboard without cracks, the original hood, rear bumper and spoiler, and some miscellaneous trim pieces.
