Ok, I recently purchased my 05 Msport and my summer set up was already off the car. My style 135's were in a very sad state. They definitely needed some love. Luckily for them, I really like to clean things.. Since its cold here I decided to set up shop in the kitchen and the living room! Lol

Alright, now it's time to get to work, I used some old
Tooth brushes, steel wool on the inside barrels, and some citrus degreaser I bought for my bicycle.

The dirt and brake dust was baked on there so hard, nothing else was working. I just rubbed lightly and it started to come off.

Looks great. Put a sealer (just like for your car's paint) on them and they'll be easier to clean next time.

No, its not corrosive. It didn't do any damage to any finish on the wheels, or on anything else I've used it on either. I just mix it 50/50 with water in a small dish, scrub with a tooth brush. Then I washed the wheels with soap and water after.

What kind of sealer do you speak of? Like a wax?

Just let me clarify.

You CAN put a wax or sealer on there, but it'll burn off extremely quick and your protection will be nothing. I've taken IR temp readings of my brakes before...and they have been near the 200s.

Anyways, you need special sealant. I use Poorboys Wheel Sealant, it's melting temperature is something crazy like 400+F, anyways. It's meant for the wheels
