Hello All,

I am selling my beloved 2002 BMW M5 to get a nice STi or M3 project car.

About the car: I have owned it since September 2011 and have not driven it much due to its size and the fact that I would rather drive my jaloppy during the winter months and I have been wanting an AWD car.

I have a clean title, in hand. I have had no problems with the car. There are misc. records all the way back to the original receipt for near $75,000. New Bridgestone Potenza's on the rear wheels and a fresh oil change at 93,700 with Mobil 1 0w40 for the winter months.

This car DOES NOT CONSUME OIL. Which is very rare but, shows that this M5 has been well maintained and cared for. There is also no VANOS (BMW's variable timing) rattle. The rod bearings were replaced at 80,000 preventatively, according to the previous owner. The navigation/OBC has no dead pixels which is also rare.

Mods:

- 20% tint all around
- Powder coated wheels in carbon black
- Removed fuse for headlamp washers because it is annoying when you hit the wrong button and the washers spray all over your freshly washed hood.

Stock options:

- M-Audio
- Park Distance Control
- Extended leather (Leather wrapped dash, comfort seats, alcantara headliner)

Problems with the car (Pictures of all problems):
1. There is a 1 inch scratch on the drivers side B pillar gloss trim
2. There is a 1/2 inch scratch on the passenger side door card on the lower corner
3. There is a yellow residue from the glue used on a clear bra that I removed from the car
4. The pixels are a bit sketchy on the HUD display.

Please PM me with any questions, VIN is upon request, please PM to ask for more pics and I will add them to the OP.

Asking price is $18,500 OR BEST OFFER so, shoot me anything you got. Worst I can say is no. I will be open to trade for a nice STi that has been maintained or a S/C / Turbo M3. Or any other interesting trades. Depending on the vehicle, either myself or the buyer may need to add cash.

If someone is interested out of Washington State, It will be the buyers responsibility to arrange and pay for shipping or pickup of the car. Or, pay me to drive out and pay for my flight home.

Cheers~
H

this.

also, a sharpie might hide that scratch on the b pillar a little...

Actually a rubbing compound is recommended by a TSB from BMW, don't remember which off the top of my head. I have a scratch on my shadowline as well but haven't dealt with it yet

Also, GLWS... I love the E39 M5

EDIT: here it is -

This Service Information Bulletin This Service Information bulletin supersedes S.I. B51 53 02 dated October 2002. designates changes to this revision

SUBJECT
Discoloration of Shadowline Trim

MODEL
E46 (3 Series), E60, E61 (5 Series), E64 (6 Series), E65, E66 (7 Series), E83 (X3), E53 ( X5) Equipped with Shadowline exterior trim

SITUATION
The optional glossy black Shadowline exterior trim may become discolored.

CAUSE
Analysis has determined that the discoloration is due to a film deposited on the trim which distorts the light reflecting off the trim. These deposits may come from car washes, hard water, or other environmental conditions.

CORRECTION
Deposits that cause the discoloration can be easily removed by polishing with a quality swirl removing polish, such as Meguiars #9.
