Sorry Charlie but I've got to call it on your ZHP.

Okay, when you see my ZHP in person you can tell me this personally :p

As far as I'm concerned, I still have a ways to go before I will say my ZHP is perfect :)

Heh I hear ya... If you look closely at the front of my car it looks sand blasted from 75K of highway miles... my CF splitters are al beat up and peeling. my 2 yr old headlight covers look like theyr're 10 years old and it's hard as heel to see through the windsheild when the sun shines directy on it but it still runs great and looks good when all cleaned up... I'll prolly keep it forever...

First 300 miles after my new paint job I incurred two chips that need serious attention. Made me so mad, but they've also help me decide not keep her as a garage queen and drive her as often as possible. Chips and road rash are inevitable, it's the body damage that we can avoid.

BTW, who's excited about SIGFest? I am!

danewilson77

I would like to request that each person attending, Paypal me $10. This will help me out a lot, and will go toward offsetting my cost for Beer/Drinks/Food and the banner (It's going to be around $200....but I think it's a must if we are going to be in Roundel).

With the above said....I do not plan to publish....who has paid, and who hasn't.

Additionally, if you can't pay $10, or would like to donate a different amount....anything really is appreciated. If you can't pay, again....no worries. Just show up.:)

DW, do you have a $$ goal? If so, what is it? And will you let us know when we've reached the goal? We'd like to cover your costs. Thanks, amigo.

Well......we have 35 memebers signed up.....So I guess my initial goal is $350. It will most likely be more than that to make it happen....but some have already donated more than $10.......so....I think I'll be good. Whatever $$$ above and beyond that....I will kick in.

So...In short....$350 as a goal would be a huge help.....and shouldn't hurt pocket books to bad. I really wanted to keep cost down, for our members.

Request added to initial post as well.

I've thought about this, and I was wondering if maybe we could set up a Skype event for everyone that can't make it. Especially now since we have contributing members that can't make it. We could have a computer or couple with skype set up and just pass them around and let everyone say hi and chat.

Either that or have some kind of live broadcast linked to the forum? This sounds like a fun idea, regardless.

Anyone coming from TX or between TX and VA? Anyone looking for a hotel split?

I was thinking, sorry of this was covered already, what if we all decided on one hotel for the people getting rooms and we could block off a floor like you do for a wedding?

That way we might be able to get cheaper rates and we can all hang out at the hotel too while we wait for the next day or activities.

I personally wanted to go all hobo on Danes yard, but I was informed showering is needed or something of that nature.

I contacted the hotel and they advised me that I would need to know exactly how many rooms since its over the weekend and rooms will get reserved quickly. In order for this to work, I would need exact numbers and for people who have already reserved, I would need their names as seen on the reservations and dates they are staying there. I think this would be awesome if we can get several rooms at the same floor :thumbsup

The hotel is not too far, driving-wise. I chose to stay here because of the hilton points and for me, this would be a "free" hotel stay. :)

MAINTENANCE INFO

Name - Maint Item

1. DW77 - S54 Engine swap. I keed, I keed....
2. Whitexi - May do the cooling system again if not done before the trip, may also bring a window regulator for each door
3. Jayjay_dee - transmission fluid change and differential fluid too.

Jay.........Auto or manual?

4. cakM3 - VANOS seals replacement and anti-rattle kit (could use some help ) / new coils-spark plugs / rolling fenders if available

Let me check your part list before you think you're "done" ordering stuff.

5. static667 - REVISED 3/02/12: LCABs, tie rod ends, VANOS, and maybe a sunroof fix. BP will be doing some code work in there somewhere.
6. az3579 - Depending on what breaks between now and then

LOL

7: chad44- maybe clutch/flywheel upgrade or coil overs... Only time will tell.

Not sure about clutch/flywheel in the driveway? Are you confident in these repairs? I have personally never done this.

8. yousharenow- Front LCAB's (wiill we have the tools to do this?), Fuel filter ,Micro filter, Brake Fluid Flush. Maybe a head cover gasket

Can't do a head cover gasket....but can do a valve cover gasket.

9. Zell- New rotors on all 4/sandpaper brake pads to be flat (they're already basically new, no reason to buy new brake pads), entire cooling system, and if there is time, steering guibo.

Would like to see steering guibo get done.

10. Mtnman-BP has to recode my car for halogen lights as high beams. (oh yeah, bp, wanna help me?) also wrench for hire for vanos/lcabs/suspension/etc

Thanks

11. rvariverguy - RTABs, computer flashing, small dent/paint repair?

I hope someone coming has done RTAB's. Special tools?

12. joelshow - rear brake pads and rotors...if I bring the parts can someone help with the install?

Of course. You will have more than enough help.

13. iZHP - Sunroof shade, and a few other small fixes.

We used to have Hilton Rewards, then we switched to Wynn family hotels because we got a really great deal with a new TimeShare (Switched from RCI). But I'll be honest, Mom always got the sweet hotels everywhere she went. And if she wasn't happy with something all she had to do was lift her little finger and things would change in an instant. Mom is a very powerful lady when it comes to Restaurants and Hotels. I guess all those years of traveling for LockheedMartin really got her into the high-end part of traveling, especially when it was at LM's expense LOL

The spiders use "off" in their Wheaties, at my place.

I caught one the other day making a protein shake out of it.

Is she willing to learn? I'll teach her.

@John. Kyle says he's not going to drink too much so he'll be able to drive, but should that change You're one of the select few I'd let drive Lucy. But you can't say anything about her underpowered-ness.

I'm sorry, but I'm going Tanya Harding on Kyle if he tries to keep me from driving Lucy. I would never say anything negative and I'd treat her better than my own!

Also.....be advised that there will be a silent auction Friday night...that will also go toward paying for the event. It will be a fun way to additionally contribute.

So far I have:

1. Quantity 2 style 135 rims (very slight bends - perfect for full size spares or fully refurb).

2. Quantity 1 ZHP belt. Yes...you heard right! The "ZHP" belt will be silent auctioned. I know...crazy, right?

3. Quantity 1 E46 center console, that someone can have as a spare to "wrap", or paint.

4. Quantity 1 "NON ZHP" E46 6 speed shift knob.

5. Quantity 1 E46 windshield cowling. Not new....but looks new (no cracks) after forever black/black wow/Meguilers trim restore is applied.

6. Quantity 2 Hankook Ventus V12's (might be V4's-I will confirm) (245/35/18) with 50% tread life?

Silent auction rules/limits, etc...will be fully explained later.

Just letting you guys know...you might be able to get some gently used stuff at "Family" pricing.

If anyone has a ZHP related item (E46 related item) in good, new, or slightly used condition, that they would like to donate to the cause....please PM me.

7: chad44- maybe clutch/flywheel upgrade or coil overs... Only time will tell.

Not sure about clutch/flywheel in the driveway? Are you confident in these repairs? I have personally never done this.

I have done clutches and flywheels before. I'm willing to help with this if needed.

I was looking at the maintenance list, and it made me think... Should we also start another thread for tools needed/offered for the meet? That way we can make sure the proper tools are available?
I have a crap load of tools, there's no way I could bring all of them so I'd hope to bring what's needed so I'm not dragging 300lbs of tools for no reason.

Dane,
It was good seeing you again tonight. The wheels are one of each, front & rear, both have some cosmetic marks on the face so would be better as a full size spare vice a daily "show" piece. The slight bend on the inner lip is on the rear wheel, it was balanced out when I used it and not noticeable until above 75 mph. The front wheel has no bends that I know of -- the tech at tire shop said it spun true on their balancing machine. The front wheel does have a little bit of curb rash and I had another one that had less, so I swapped them.

And your car looked outstanding tonight! For those of you who have never seen Dane's car, get your "A" game on for the 'Fest because his is one of the cleanest sedans you'll ever see. Plus he has "home field advantage", he won't have to drive a distance and collect some of the infamous Virginia bugs on the nose.

Lol. I love it when guys visit and I especially appreciate the generous donation Bruce.

Yeah.. The ZHP will be detailed and garaged prior to meet. The Benz will be picking up people at the airport. Appreciate the compliments Bruce.... But your coupe was equally beautiful.
