It seems most people on here shoot Nikon but thought I'd post this anyway.

http://blog.apertureacademy.com/2012/01/canon-200-400mm-and-600mm-prototype.html

You can see in the first pic that the 200-400 has a built in 1.4x teleconverter making a quick 280-560 with one stop less aperture.

The LCD screen is also interesting in that it appears to be even wider than 16:9

Thanks for posting. I'm a Nikon guy. My photo teacher used to say, the best lens teleconverter is a visa or mastercard. :biggrin

Teleconverters get a bad rap, and it's not because they suck, it's because too many companies make teleconverters THAT SUCK.

It basically comes down to whether a shot would look better at x focal length enlarged 200% or at 2x focal length with a teleconverter, and there are plenty of quality teleconverters out there that would yield a far superior image compared to the enlargement.

Very true, especially with the large megapixel cameras now, much easier to blow up - it could go either way. Any good recommendations for teleconverters that don't blow the budget?
