At my friend's BMW wreck yard today....but I found them working on a car that runs... He's the boss! I never knew how heavy forklifts are until I saw this balancing act.

Yikes! Not sure if that sort of thing is common, but I don't know if I would put my life on the line with one of those things!!!

My friend was telling my that forklifts can have a lead weight in the back totalling 10,000lbs. So having a $3,500 up front so close to the middle point shouldn't even be a problem. I saw the mechanic tugging on the underside linkages to check for any loose parts. The car didn't rock one bit!!

That makes sense. Now that I think about it, that is their whole reason for living. Lifting heavy crap up in the air!!! :)

I watched the forklift pick up an E39 540i and swivel it 180 degrees while moving quickly without any loss of traction to the forklifts hard rubber...LOL. It was lift, turn, new location, drop!

Tell them you were referred by Roland Mah who owns an oxford green 540i and Trevor Mah with a black 330i. :) If you get Edward...he's the owner!

Totally safe.

Counterweight is more than the car, so it won't topple over.

Also this...

There's a guy by my town with a E39 M5 that uses a fork lift to work on it.

I'm confused on how u just put metal bars under thecae and hope that the car's weight doesn't rest on anything under there and crush something as it's being supported buy a forklift arm....LOL

I'm wondering; how do they get the arms to rest on the jack pads? What do the forklift arms rest on?? I really hope not the side skirts...

The forks can move laterally as well up and down.

Now that's the kind of leading edge information you just don't get on other forums! :rofl (Just bustin' your chops Horney, I know you were too).
