Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you know where I can share my photos for free without any limitations?

I was using Flickr but just the basic account limits you to like 200 photos? I have been using Imageshack for a number of years but now I just realized it limits you to 500 photos. Not that I am cheap or anything but I am trying to keep my life streamlined right now and take away any extra bills. I have a free Box account with 50GB of space but I love a place that's focused on photos more so than just free space on the internet.

I guess I'll try my Box account. I tried sharing using my Dropbox account but the links only survive for a short time before they just disappear and render a red X. haha.

I sued to use Flickr too. Been trying to find a better alternative.
Tried picasa? "Picasa Web Albums offers 1 GB of free storage for photos and videos. However, files under certain size limits don't count towards this free storage limit." Another 20Gb is only $5/year, 80Gb/$20.
What about Google Plus?

I've tried using my Google+/picasa web album but it seemed to degrade the pictures so they looked soft and less colour. Maybe it's different now!! Box.com doesn't allow direct linking without paying to upgrade...lol damn.

I host at www.500px.com, www.flickr.com, and www.caseywithers.com

Trevor the Flickr account is $25 annually for a pro account and you will get renewal warnings. Pay it once and forget about it until you get a 30 day notice. It is the most efficient and best way to have your work viewed consistently IMHO.

^^ agree with that. I also have a Pro Flickr account. The $24 a year ($2 a month) is worth it.

Why do you say that? Space and bandwidth are cheap these days, and any reputable image hosting company with a decent business plan (likely ads) to supports costs should have no problem sticking around for quite a while.

That said, I agree with everyone who says host your own - best way to be sure that your files will be where you expect them to be.

^ I'm with them. Flickr FTW. Well worth the $25. I used to host on FileDen.com for free. Site went under and I lost 2 yrs of stuff I had on there and never properly backed up.

Flickrs IQ is top notch too. Whats $2 a month :dunno ?

It's the IQ that I pay for.

I have:

Photobucket PRO - Great for Droid to Internet or TT.

Flickr PRO - Great as mentioned above... But hosting phone pics is worthless. App Sux.

Pix500 - Same.

I'll probably go with Flickr one day. I love the iOS apps. I wonder if there is a way that we all can monetize off of picture views! I made $6 off Youtube in December. LOL. I've seen some posts with tiny "ticker bar" like advertisements on the bottom of the pic...nothing to detract the picture. We can make a few cents to pay for our subscription fee!

Funny you should ask! There's a Flickr alternative called razzi.me that pays you for ad clicks when people view your photos. Plus there isn't a limit on space. It is fairly new, so I can't speak to its longevity. I've been using it for a couple months now and like it. There's an iPhone app as well.

If you want to view stats though it's 5 bucks a month.
