Hello! :hi Some of you may recognize the user name... I've been over on bf.c (since 2006 in the e30 forums and summer 2010 in the e46 forums) and e46f.c (mostly lurking).

I like to look fondly at the ZHPs - however I remind myself that with the new family and wife that does not drive a MT, that I made a more responsible choice. But what fun is that?

So my DD is an e30 - 1990 325iS (5spd, zinno ext, black leather) with 275,000 miles on the clock. And she is definately feeling her age. I beat her senseless driving 30k miles a year just going to/from work (60 miles one way). Picked her up in December of 2006 for $1850.

The next in line as my DD - family car/grocery getter/road trip riot box - is an e46 - 2002 325XiT (auto, black ext, tan leatherette) with 169,000 miles on the clock and 109,000 miles on the engine. Picked her up summer of 2010 for $5000. Found out the engine had previously overheated and likely had warped heads. Acquired used engine with around 100k on the clock for $1700 with warranty.

I dream fondly of one day doing a few cosmetic mods, however with a toddler and wife to take care of, I will have to balance needs and wants. Perhaps I will start requesting things for fathers day... birthday... etc... etc...

I also acknowledge that there will likely be upcoming repairs - so mods will be put on hold as those arise...

Mod wish list (so far):
Clear tail lights, corners, sidemarkers, third brake light.... only to smoke them using lamin-x (removable film). Alternatively, I am getting another set of factory ambers... I may use VHT night shade on those if I get impatient for the clears.

Gloss black kidneys

Aux Input

Shadowline trim

Style 73's (I have the wheels, just need 17" summer tires)

Winter Tires (I have factory 16" wheels, just waiting for the Hankook V4s to wear out :rofl)

Front plate delete strip

Here's a recent pic - been through photo editor... (from the photoshoot for DW77's contest - please be gentle)

Please don't hesitate to be a big part of this site, Bill. You don't have to own a ZHP -- as you know. Knowledge of all things BMW will suffice.

Welcome to the site.

I'm glad you like the pic. I'm hoping to learn from others here and improve my pictures over time and through trial and error.

I know... sheesh... I have only been looking at ZHP mafia avatars for the last month and a half on bf.c... and received subliminal messages on the ZHP Mafia in just about every thread... hehe...

Nice wagon!!

I have a buddy with an E46xi as a family DD and an E30 as a DD. Both with similar mileage :)

Welcome to the family

I just wish there was an OEM ZHP Touring. Utility at it's finest.

Yes. Ugly as sin.
If there would be a new F10 Touring, THAT I'd be interested in, just not new, because it would cost two yearly salaries. :(

Yeah - it definately isn't going to win any beauty contests. I am looking beyond that for space and performance.

Definately not very practical...for me anyway.

Yeah I don't care for the lines of the M5 Touring as much as I do the Audi variants. As much as it pains me to say that.... I haven't seen a BMW hatch or wagon that really exited me yet.

Yes, the RS6 looks much better.

I love a good wagon, as I own an Audi Allroad but they don't make them with a 3rd row anymore which will become a need as the fam grows. The allroad was pretty full with just the three of us this year, need a box. Maybe an X5 in the future, used of course, need a raise!!!

Everything looks better dropped Dane. I believe that's been scientifically proven at some point. The E46 design was definitely a high point of BMW's. Its very hard to go wrong there! LOVE THEM.

I'm pretty fond of the E90 LCI Tourings, honestly. Especially with the M-Sport package. :biggrin
