Somebody keyed my wife's car

Went out to the car this morning and found this. Turns my stomach just to look at it, it was such a beautiful car. I'll wait till after I discuss it with our insurance agent before I mess with it but I can feel it pretty deep with my fingernail.

It's really bumming me out. I have no idea why someone would do that to her car. I'm about the last person on the block to leave for work so by the time I got outside it was around 9:15 and there weren't many other cars on the street. I'm curious to see when I get home if any other cars were damaged.
