Gosh finding any kind of info over on E46Fanatics is really hard due to the amount of posts, and different variations of cars over there. I searched here as well but didnt realy find anything.

anyway, I have heard you dont have to remove the headlights to get the headlight covers off. my body shop guy is saying he thinks you have to. After much searching I found this:
http://www.e46fanatics.com/howto/howtodetail.php?howto_id=24

but it looks like thats a pre facelift car. does that DIY hold true for the facelift sedans or is there a different DIY I need to find?

The only difference would be removing the corner light using a Philips head to unscrew it.

I spoke too soon. Google has a better search function than the forum it seems. haha

Yes. Always. "E46" followed by what you need.

you can get much better search results if you do title only searches over on e46f.

that said, yes, it can be done, but it gets fiddly if you have headlight washers. I just remove the whole headlight.
