Hi,

I have a 2006 ZHP with the center console nav, kenwood, bluetooth option The disc for the nav is in the trunk.

Today while picking up my daughter at school, my stereo stopped working. I may have brushed against a control (seat heaters, DSC etc) but in any case this is when the CD suddenly stopped. I immediately pulled over and checked, all the buttons below the nav/stereo, and pressed the on button/knob for the stereo. The button would not light up, nor the radio or CD play. All the while the single CD player behind the screen and interface still will eject and take in a single CD - just no sound.

I checked both the #7 and # 41 fuses, but they are both fine.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be silencing the audio?
Also, the audio for the phone works without lighting up - the orange glow around the perimeter of the volume knob.

The car is two weeks new to me, and has been trouble free until now.

Any help or ideas would be most welcome.

Thanks.

Connection at the amplifier in the trunk may have been bumped?
Do you have an aftermarket amplifier that may have its own fuse (in the trunk)?
Check connections in the back of the Kenwood.
Stuck in phone mode maybe?

It could be as simple as the radio module has crashed (it has a small computer inside). Try pulling both fuses 7 and 41 and leaving them out for 10 minutes.

Thanks Richard, I hope that's the case, I'll give it a try during lunch!

All fixed. Simply a loose connection. Thanks for the help Richard and Oli

Good to hear. No loose connections allowed here. It's all tight now I bet.

Cables dressed, and routed nicely. Tight.
Thanks again.
