Just noticed my rear tires are worn down - have been commuting and just not checking. Fronts have some life left. Just had same issue with wife's MB E350 Sport. I had to replace her tires but fronts were ok - I kept the fronts of her MB.

So, I have two 245-40-18 tires with great tread - can I put these on the rear of my 2005 ZHP with stock rims?

Yes. I doubt you would even notice a difference.

Actually, on 8.5" rims people like to use 245's or lower because the 255 is the biggest you can fit on an 8.5" rim and some people think that the tires bulge off the rims with 255's
