I like my orion v2. No issues and good warranty (although if there are issues, I'd have to rebake my lights which is not much of an option). Sedan and coupe angel eyes don't cross-fit, so with the M3 being a coupe, I seriously doubt it. It might be different for non-facelift.

hmm but the m3 coupe doesnt have a full halo...the reason why i asked is because a local member is selling m3 orion v2 halos and i have a sedan of course...i think it should fit. people at umnitza are being anal and not answering me

Looks like Dennis imola_zhp got your answer. For non-facelift, looks like it's the same. They are different for facelift.

Speaking of angel eyes, can you guys post pics of what you have? I really like the setup that imola red has.. But, I have been curious, what is different between the V2 and V4... I want the ultra white color (similar to the new BMWs) but also a complete light, not the individual LED look.. (opaque vs. clear).

Thanks in advance.

Jon thanks from what I was told today from Umnitza is that the V4 is more uniform and doesn t show the individual leds. I personally have not seen these yet. I will investgate, as Umnitza is only 15 min from my home.

Right there with you Gary... took me forever to pull the trigger on that... and that's only after I found someone very experienced. The opaques don't fit coupes last I checked, so can't really provide input there. It's been awhile though. My AE's are 4300K yellow-white, so that won't help either.

Okay I caved in and bought a new set from a local member.

First impression of openning the box. It was packed neatly and the angel eyes were beast like. They are very well made and did not feel like china crap (I'm pretty sure it's made in china anyways).

I tested the lights before taking out the housings and everything. It was bright as f#{! And I loved it.

The only problem I had was making the rings parallel with the reflector bowl but other than that it was easy. The clips were very strong and didnt seem like they would break upon mounting them.

Overall I am very pleased with the product itself but not pleased with the online customer service they have. I pm'ed and emailed them with a question and never got an answer.

These pictures don't do justice but they are purple and very bright.

Enjoy

You got them in purple?
I have the 6k orion V2 on mine..had them for over two years now with only one problem. I didnt quite get the one for the fog light mounted properly when i installed them two years ago and about a month ago finally wiggled its way loose. Took it back apart right there in the drive with the screwdriver out of the trunk tool kit and fixed it within half an hour it was back in and everything back together...gotta love pre-face ;)

Will the clips hold in place without using epoxy or superglue on them? Still debating if I should pull the trigger on AEs. Since no E46s came out from the factory with AEs.....please confirm.

My clips hold fine. Originally I had double sided tape on them but that fell off before I even had the install done.

Is this the same one that is a cut off switch that you can control whenever you don't need the AE's to be turned on?

As I read it on their website, it reduces the brightness when the lights turn on. That's how the new BMWs are, and how I'd like mine to operate.

I spoke with Matt owner of Umnitza and yes the V4 angel eyes are similar to the new BMW "white" angel eyes. No pics but there is a comparison between V2 and V4 on Umnitza's site on the owners e39 M5.

Thanks for the update homie! I do like the V4s, but honestly, looking at the pics kakashi just posted above, the V2 are plenty 'white' enough like I want, and cost a lot less. I should post a picture of my X3 for comparison... So, I'll probably go with the V2 opaque also... Someday. :biggrin

Correct me if I'm wrong...but the AE is smaller and is not riding exactly with the outer rims of the halogen cone? The AEs for the Xenons look great and riding just fine.

Now that you mention it...those almost look like 325 rings.

yes, you are right...the rings for the high beams are not that great...the fitment overall is always complained about on e46f.

they are actually m3 rings. these are are OEM xenons btw

Looks like the fitment of the V4 rides better on the outer rings of the Halogens. Hard to tell from a distance. Would require a close up shot without AE's turned on to see fitment. Even on the V2 with AEs on...you can see the lousy fitting. The cone ridges can be seen.

So, M3 rings are smaller than the regular 330i's?

JupiterBMW
07-20-2012, 06:25 PM
Geezus you guys have good eyes. They all look awesome to me, but I do agree the v4 looks a little better than the v2... I'm speaking as to overall look too, can't really tell what you're talking about with fitment.

Hornung418
07-20-2012, 07:56 PM
Just to clarify...There is no size difference between the halogen bowls for any e46. They are all the same size, which means that there is no 325 specific rings and no 330 specific rings.

m3 and 330 rings are the same size...its just that umitza has horrible fitment...the pictures they show are with their aftermarket headlamps...not OEM headlamps...so beware

Aside from the three lines running horizontal on the lens...how were you able to differentiate the aftermarket and OE headlamps? So, it does not really matter either way since Umnitza does have fitment problems? Or is it the roll of the dice if we get a good fit?
