I will be reviewing this product over the next several weeks to help alleviate ankle tendon pain (inner/left)

I received my roll in the mail today. I chose to get the 2" roll, that is 16' long....as I should be able to cut it to fit my needs. Researching exactly how to use it.

Many options and "pre-cuts" available.

My mother is a hand therapist and uses that stuff all the time, so if you need advice, I can ask her to dig up some links.

Dane I used it when that weird muscle behind my knee got pulled (along with my calf). Works decently well if combined with the RICE method (Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate). It won't work as well if you just expect it to be the primary source of relief, it's only a support method for when you need to be active.

Also, shave the area around where you plan to tape or you'll hate pulling it off. I also suggest you shower first before removing so it's wet, comes off the skin a bit easier.

Yes please....I have no idea how to apply.....I.e. in which direction I should be pulling tension. The issue I have is pain in the lower inner ankle toward the bottom of my foot. The bottom does not hurt though. I suspect I strained some tendons there, and some support would be nice, while continuing to run.

Dane, are you sure you are not suffering from Plantar Fasciitis?

I've been having foot problems and PF is really more about in the heel IIRC. Quite a while back doc used some of this tape on mine to help support an ankle sprain but long term said wrapping it before and icing after activity was the best.

Thanks John......Been icing every night. 30 miutes on ice.....15 off....for 3 or 4 sessions.....then beddy bye.

It's def NOT heel. It's inside foot, then up toward ankle. The inner part that is "concave" on my right foot, is "convex" on my left foot.

That shit works. My wife used it for Carpal Tunnel on the advice of a Physical Therapist.

LOL...

Did a little over 5 miles today (Felt a bit worn out from the 7 miles yesterday). Ankle did not hurt as bad....and seemed warmer/looser, and not as tight.

Took a shower, and seemed to stay on pretty well. I have a little bit of tape rollage on some edges. I'm gonna try to get tomorrows workout done without changing it out, as the claim is, "two to three days". I highly doubt 3 days is doable....but won't know till I try.

Cool. Did you just ice normally, over the tape?

RICE'd every day for sure and the KT Tape is a lot better water resistant.

too bad the damn tendon is still sore when I move it a certain way.

Well I gone and dunnit this time. Smashed my patella against the coffee table, instant swelling. Popped 2 alieve right away and taped up the knee and iced it to help swelling go down.

Why is it always me?

Heres a visual Dane

I've used KT tape for various heel, ankle, and knee issues with mixed results. Like Seth said, it's all about the RICE. Just taping and running on the injury taped up never really did anything for me.

Sucks to take time off, but sometimes a solid week or two of no running makes all the difference.

Is RICE a typo? What does that mean?

Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.

A lot of ankle and knee issues with running are repetitive stress injuries. The only way to heal them up is to give them some time. I hate doing it, but the couple of times that I've bit the bullet and taken a week off it's made a huge difference.

Where can I get those K tapes?

I have the one like Dane's, put it on my sole for my Plantar Fasciitis, played basketball, after 2 hours, its all messed up... wont stay put...

Ive been icing the sole of my feet every night, elevated... the next morning, i have to wait for a few minutes before i can stand on my feet...

Ive been basketball free for 1 week now and planning to stay away from the bball court for 2 more weeks, lets see...

Last resort is cortisone shot, hopefuly wont need it.

Tape is garbage imho. It does offer some support, but does not stay on, for as long as they claim.

Are you putting it on a few hours before you go out?

I had some trouble until I started doing that- afterwards, the tape would stay on for days.

OK....good tip KG. I will ensure I do that...though I suspect I have been. It seems when I come back from my run....and pull my sock off....the tape is stuck (partially) to the sock. Then when I take a shower...it's all down hill from there.

I won't give up on it just yet...

Ya Keith, I try to apply at least an hour before activity.

I emailed them about my issues and sounds like they're gonna send me some new tape thinking the glue might be bad.

Taped up my heel and my knee today, tape held up better than past. Taped an hour before run and humidity was down. Knee came off just a touch in the corners an heel is solid and still on.
