I don't know if this is the correct place to post....

I'd like to consider installing either black front grills [to match the black shadow line trim on car], or black with body matching surrounds]. This seems a modification that is within both my budget and technical skills :)

Are there any members here that have either?

Been looking for images with side to side comparisons... cannot locate any yet. Any help appreciated.

Members thoughts- i want to keep this really subtle and as close to stock aesthetically as possible,... do the painted grilles look good or do they cheapen the car?

thank you!

Dhu eet! Get 'em all black (skip the body-colored surrounds) & it'll look great. I went back & forth on whether matte black or gloss black would be best, but went with matte since a quick PlastiDip spray was cheap & reversible.

I'm all about black grills on silver. If I get the zhp I'm looking at this will probably be the first thing I do :)

In for pics as well.

You want to match the glossy trim then get the BMW Performance grills. They come glossy and are well worth the money in my opinion. I have these on my Imola ZHP. I also have black grills on my TiAg ///M as well and love the look! :thumbsup

Do it. I painted my oem grills flat black and I love it. All it took was a quick sanding, a few coats of primer a few of paint and done.

I know my car is Imola but here is an after shot.

I totally agree. The BMW Performance grilles are OEM so they fit great and no hassles.

Not silver car obviously, but I bought "BMW Performance" gloss black grills from Tischner (sp) IIRC, love 'em. EDIT: Here's a pic.

These are awesome. If I had a black car, the black gloss grilles would be a first mod for me.

Momma has a black F30, I'm debating getting her a pair for her car for awesomeness

Thanks guys.

Really would like to see these on silver, since the aesthetics don't align with other colors.

But it helps to know its done

Personally not into black grilles. I have black shadowline and a relatively silver car. I think the OEM grills are dope:
