Anyone else's style 135s cracked?
I just had my second one crack. First one was right rear with two crack in it. Now the front left has a crack... costs me $135 to get it fixed...

Yup, had my left rear fixed about 2 weeks ago. 1 inch long crack, $100 to fix with mounting and balancing.

Since owning my car, I've cracked 4 Style 135s, don't know how, i drive around potholes as if I am warming my tires...cost me $110 each to fix, then someone told me it is very dangerous to get them repaired. Ended up buying new ones for the last couple. And then just bought the Motorsports.

Honestly I feel part of the reason is the OE tire profile being so low

Symptoms of cracked wheel aside from losing air pressure??

I wish mine would crack (at a safe margin) so I have a good reason to upgrade to style 264
These overly busy wheels are the only thing i dislike about the ZHP - and I dislike them a lot :/

Anyone with cracked rims, feel free to donate. I have a thread in the FS forum... :)

The 264s are a great looking wheel on the ZHP! Just something about a mesh style wheel on a BMW for me, looks right. But yes, detailing is not the easiest

Where are you guys seeing these cracks? Visible when mounted or off?

Depends how big it is. Usually if you look belowbthe car at the back of the certain wheel, you can see the crack on the outer edge, close to the tire sidewall.

I didn't see mine. Noticed the air loss one day and I put air in it. 3 days later the car was in the shop and they said it was low again and they found the crack. I guess they spotted it when they were putting in the AKG RTABs on the car.

I'd be MORE then happy to take them off your hands, the style 135 is one of my favorite rims properly fitted. Being around Dalton's car kills me

Mine cracked (I should say that 1 of the extra set I bought cracked - it could have been weak when I bought it), the only way I could tell was slow loss of air. It was in the interior of a rear wheel.

I definitely want opinions on this: the tire store said absolutely no way I should try to repair the wheel and use it again. I told them I had an extra so I'd just swap it out, so there wasn't a potential sale involved in their logic. They said repairing a cracked wheel was dangerous as it could fail, and absolutely do not do it... you think this is an over-reaction?

A properly repaired wheel is no more dangerous that any other wheel. Anybody that says different doesn't know what they are taliking about. My last wheel was cracked in two spots... got it fixed and it lasted IDK 20 or 30 thousand miles before I bent the shit out of it in a constructuion zone and it couldn't be repaired... even did a track day on it... never thought twice about it.

The only symptoms will be leaking air. If you suspect a crack but can't find it, hit the back lip of the rim with some soapy water and you'll find it. The cracks will always be on the back lip.

When ever I take a rim to get fixed they tell me how crappy the BMW wheels are and how they are always fixing cracks in them

Here's a pic of the crack in mine...

I have to agree with Dane...I too didn't know there were issues regarding cracking on Style 135s. Since purchasing my ZHP, I haven't had any issues with my 135s to date.....(knock on wood).... :shifty

I got my wheel back on the ZHP. When I picked it up, I asked the guy if they get a lot Style 135s he said they get 6 series wheels all the time he said they are the worst but not too many style 135.... probably due to the fact that they really only came with the the ZHP option.

here's a pic of the welded crack... it doesn't have to be pretty, just functional since it's on the back...

Is this the front? Or do you know have to get the front fixed too?

Loosing air on the front pass side now. I put air in the tire 2 weekends ago.....hope it is not cracked. If it is I might bite the bullet and buy new wheels since all my wheels have some curb rash from the prev owner.
