Marcus, have you been hanging around the paint shops again?

Marcus-SanDiego

Why, yes. Actually, I was in the paint booth a few days ago watching Rich, co-owner of 2M Auto Body, spray his brother's 330.

I've been watching the progress from beginning to end. Amazing how much goes into a quality paint job.

I've thought about asking one of our local paint shops to hire me for free on Saturdays just to to learn how to paint. I haven't had the guts to ask yet.

I'm lucky. Dave and Rich let me hang out at their shop any time I want. If you know the guys well enough, I doubt you'll get much resistance.

Dave, be sure that you post before and after pictures once the car is completely done. I think that will be great.

I'm especially impressed with all of the sanding that takes place before you ever lay a coat of anything (whether it be primer, paint, or clear).

I've gained an appreciation for what it takes to paint an entire car. I've also gained an appreciation for the costs that go into it.

I'm now in a better position to advocate a higher price for the work you do. You're currently too cheap!
