Figured I'd post up a few photos of my DSP E36 race car.

A while ago I actually decided to get a photoshoot done with a local photographer down here in San Diego. My car isn't the prettiest machine out there, but she's definitely a proper setup little E36. My wife and I co-drive her at the local Autocross venues down here in San Diego. Although I may catch sh!t for this we usually run with the SCCA instead of BMWCCA, although I do enjoy the BMW club's lunches and refreshments hehe :)

MANY MANY Thanks to Midnight Oil Motorsports (http://www.midnightoilmotors.com) for their continued support and superior service.

Nice shots.

What are the Bav Auto springs rated at? Appears you have some good roll action going on. Any future plans?

Got any videos :)

Actually I have no idea... I called and asked and they said they dont know....

They are pretty soft...butt tells me it's probably around 400lb but I dunno.

The suspension needs an overhaul for 2013. Need to finalize attack plan...I hope to have a set of coilovers on by march for the national tour in San Diego.

If you want to have a nice set-up to dial in the car, look into DA suspension. Expensive, but worth it.

AST 4200 or TCK DA coilovers are a good place to look. The adjustability with those are pretty awesome.

Happy modding. :)

Those are on my list for consideration although I'm not really fussed with what I run as long as it works. Cost is always an issue. With one income just now and racing the e36 all season with two drivers and rcomps is enough to keep funds fairly tight. I want to explore all options..may even try different setups before I am happy with the final variant. Honestly anything would be better than what we have now...

Pretty sure (I haz been drinking tonight) Brandon said he met TC Kline, who proceeded to comment that the Ground Control's on his E36 M3 were a TCK designed product... just letting you know

Another thing I've also heard through the grapevine - BavAuto springs are actually rebranded Swiss B&G's... well at least for E21's that's true, not sure about other chassis codes but I doubt they would switch manufacturers.

That's all really good to know. Yeah the springs are ok I guess...just need something more advanced. We have done all we can with this setup.

Ground control uses Koni shocks. I think that is where it ends though.

I've driven on GC coils on an e46 m3. Don't know if there is any relation, but they seemed like a good product

Well it's been in basically under wraps as they were building the car over at Midnight Oil, but it's back!

Mods include new AST suspension, D-Force Wheels, new brakes, etc etc. It's really nicely dialed in and the car handles like it's on rails just now.

few pics :)

The car's dynamics have really changed and are totally incredible. Actual shoot coming soon after I get some money together and recover from a month of being laid off :)

What kind of AST coilovers and what spring rates?

since the 4250's aren't in stock yet, I opted for the 4150's for now which can be modded to be double adjustable. We're going to try some 650/700 lb springs to see if that works, but it's all in theory. Don't quote me on spring rates as I'm not 100% sure what they are just now.

Agreed. They are Hoosier wets. I didn't have a chance to get tires in time and these were just available at the time. Wish I'd run the tour on the Star Specs.
