I just wanted to earmark this info somewhere as it was buried in a different thread. I again would like to thank Joopy for his excellent design and fabrication talents and his extreme generousity.

I have KW V1's which are rebuildable with new dampeners. If your fronts look like mine then you should be able to do the same as below. Rears I don't think can be rebuilt, and in my case I know they can't.

Have a tool built:

Shaft diameter

Hole distance.

Coilover housing diameter

Have the spec's sent to your design and fabrication team (My buddy..hehe):

Stoked you were able to get this job done Dane.... As for my generosity, I did do the work on company time, and a good portion of it on overtime! I'd love to calculate what that tool actually cost in terms of wages I 'earned' while making it. :rofl

Rebuild looks good brotha! :thumbsup

Dane - Do you still have this tool and would you loan it out?

Also, where did you pickup the replacement dampers?

I do have the tool and of course I would loan it out. I bought my dampers from KW but I have heard recently that they don't sell them, and you have to send in the piece for rebuild. I cannot confirm this however.

Great! I think my front dampers are shot. They moan and I get a clunk. I've essentially replaced all of my suspension components already. Nothing left to look at.

How did you go about buying directly from KW? And do you remember the cost per damper?
