Not sure if this should be in DIY...

Im thinking about getting this kit from ecs tuning.
Any opinions on the parts or pricing? Seems fair to me, kinda nice to get everything in one box from one place. Thanks!

I don't do my own work. But those prices seem competitive, Alpha. Most of the online sites likely have similar prices. Unless you have a hook up for parts, this is probably a good price.

I think my only concern is the MAHLE fuel filter/regulator VS oem.

I do stick to OEM parts here. I can't comment, therefore, on the non OEM parts quality.

ECS seems to be pretty solid in quality so I would trust their alternatives to OEM. You could also just pick up an oil filter on its own and still be pretty cheap.

I don't have an E46 Bently yet, but I sure hope the fuel filter is easier to get to than the E36 M50..............

OEM & Mahle are of the same quality. Mahle may even be the company that makes the OEM ones for BMW.

Wrapped this up today. Drives like a new car. Better throttle response and pulls just a little bit harder. What shitty O-rings they use on the fuel lines. Yanked em all and put normal ones on.

I'll tell you DIY is needed, how to put these damn cars on jack stands with only one floor jack, inside a garage. What a PITA that was!
I definitely need to come up with a better system for next time. Not to mention I have to remove the " Jack Plate" in order to get the jack itself under the car. Wasn't my safest afternoon...

Sounds like you need 2 low profile jacks. Regular jack will not work with the jack pads.

Also......HINT alert. If you get one low profile jack......you can jack it up as high as it will go, in the rear.....then put a jack stand under the same side front jack pad. Das how I roll.....

Do it to the other side.....then pull your jack out and jack up the rear, under the diff bracket...then you car is off the ground.

Many will argue ramps.....but you can't do anything with ramps, and I always leave an extra jack, near the area I am working as a safety...
