I think I'm going with these tires. It's a brand new tire. UTQG is 500. I like the new technology stuff. If I get a year out of them, I'll be happy. The other tire of choice would have been the DWS's.

What Michelin's? The MXM4's? I dunno. I'm so conflicted on tires :facepalm

It's not getting very good reviews at TR.

Sorry for the late response I'm at work.

You made a thread a week or so ago about some Michelin tires that used some new technology and were supposed to be awesome all seasons.

If your looking to spend $670 on tires I would want to get more than a year out of them.

Interesting. I have had the v12s before. I liked them for the price. I will probably buy new tires for the corvette in the next year. I planning to go with summer tires but I want to hear your impressions.

But DW drives about 100 miles round trip per day, so 5 days per week times 50 weeks (2 weeks for vacation) yields 25K miles. Add in at least a 100 miles per week for shuttling kids to practices/games & running errands, that's another 5K miles per year. Getting 30K miles out of tires for our cars is a challenge.

I ended up going with the DWS's. I could not talk myself out of them. After looking at price, customer reviews, weight (significant), tread width and UTQG....on paper (and from talking to people) they just stack up as a superior tire. Done....

LEFT = DWS's, MIDDLE = Khumo 4X, RIGHT = Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP

Great info! I didn't know they listed tire weights. Yikes, my runflats are heavy. 3-5 lbs more each than the comparable Super Sports or Ventus V12s. 6 lbs more than the Extremecontact DW. Wow

Yeah...tire weight is something I factor in....

Must have been one of my blonde moments. All the money I've spent on lightweight wheels. Checking tire weights should be a no-brainer.

:rofl

FWIW, the khumo 4X do have another 1/16" of tread though.

Never had an issue getting over 30k out of a set of ties on my ZHP, and that's with 3 track days a year on each set.

Awesome choice, DW. They perform very very well for being all seasons and lasted me 35k with 4 track days.

Interested to see how they work out for you DW. We drive about the same amount. I'm on my second set of V12s but thinking of going to an all season. I left the V12s on this winter to see how they did. Although I was pretty impressed, think I want to go to a all season for a little more traction.

I was just doing some TireRack "what if" scenarios last night myself. Very interested to hear what you think of the DWSs.

I've got two sets of Style 135s now, so I've been kicking around going to a square setup on the new car. Which opens up a whole can of worms - all fronts? all rears? Tire size? Summer or A/S? I've also got a set of brand new 17" Beyern CSL reps with all season Kumhos I could run for winter, assuming they fit over the bigger brakes on the ZHP. Too much to think about. Might go work on my taxes - that's simpler.

Use the 8.5s all around with summer tires and the fronts with winters. Win win. 255/35/18 summers and 225/40 for winters.
