I am moving do to North county SD around August of this year. Probably in the Escondido/Carlsbad area. Would like to get to know some fellow BMW junkies or just car guys. I am currently having to revert my headers back to stock :-( cuz Cali emissions dont like catless exhaust. But I am looking forward to sunshine and some fun.

Cheers.

Welcome!

The Left Coast is the right coast!

You'll be about halfway between us guys in L.A. and San Diego. We'll get some meet ups going eventually.

congrats on the move, let me know when you get to town. As for your headers, just keep them and use a set of stock ones to pass smog... then put your system back on for two years. I'll swap with you if you want ;)

Well technically the right coast is the right coast, because... left can't be right. :shifty

Granted, it is the Best Coast compared to the Beast Coast. :(

Congrats! The SoCal ZHP numbers swell. Hoping to add to that number myself soon ASAP. Can't wait for some SoCal ZHP meets/pics.

I have considered all those things, and it really would be too much of a PITA for me to do every 2 years. I will just have to live with stock exhaust and save for my next car. Thinking 335is with JB4 tune and FMIC.

Hoping to actually meet the Godfather in person too. :cheers

Enjoy the move... I won't get started on which coast is best... I lived in California for 11 years, best financial decision I made was leaving... But to each their own! Enjoy it, and hopefully I can join meets if I'm in the area for work when they're planned!

I totally agree with this. My dad (and plenty other relatives), always talk of leaving CA to a cheaper state. It's always the women in the family that object... -.-

Yeah, my buying power doubled moving from CA to FL... And I'm in an 'expensive' part of Florida... If I move to Texas, my real estate buying power will almost double again... And no state income tax!

Congratulations, and preemptive welcome to the region! Lots of goodness here.

We're in Scripps Ranch. Just east of Mira Mesa. I am sure we'll meet.

I'm jealous. I get to move to the frozen tundra of the north in a couple months. Ugh.

Do you mean the new model Z4 M? cause the older ones don't do it for me. Do Z4's have any major known common issues? Do you think they are an overall better DD than a modded 335is?

there is no new model Z4 MC, I'm talking about the old chassis. It's basically an E46 M3 but better. Way better and easier to maintain than a turbo E92

Sorry, I think you made a typo, JP. You said the Z4M is better than an M3. Just wanted to make sure you fixed that before people thought that was intended. ;)

agreed, I meant "stiffer chassis"

also, I see a lot of 335is' and tons of M3's around town. Rarely do I see a Z4 M (coupe or roadster)

Great. Let us know when it happens. And Joop, there's a reason CA is more expensive, it's worth it! :biggrin

You also have to pay for bags at Walmart, pay the Man to not let you mod your car, pay to drive on bridges, pay pay pay pay....

Seriously though, California has some great high points, and at times I do miss it. I just can't justify the cost of living.

Maybe you west coast guys are all just ballers!!
