Do it before you get the new wheels, it'll make mounting those new wheels so much easier.
That is true, good advice. :cheers

If you use red-loctite, you should not need to do this.

Then they'll never come out... Not good if you have to replace one.

I use bimmerworld race bulletnose wheel studs and it had dri-loc on them. I removed them with the two-nut method and it worked out fine. I also had to remove a red loctite stud on a friend's car and I had no trouble with hand tools to remove them without heat.

I thought red Loctite practically welds them in place...

Just increases the friction coefficient between the two materials. Natural vibrations won't loosen them. But they can be removed with hand or power tools.
Sent from my GS3.

Thanks for the clarification.
If I get the race studs from Ray, would I need to Loctite them?

BP,
You install the studs using red loctite, and they will definitely hold fast. If you ever need to remove one, you apply heat which loosens the loctite's holding ability and then it removes easily.

i <3 studs. Never have to worry about wheel spacers having the right length bolts. and lining up the wheel is so easy! :)
