Shame to hear he ded so young doing something he loved. Properly mounted cars should never fall off their stands. R.I.P.

Very sad.
The first thing my father told me about working on cars was to never get under a car that's being held up by a jack. If the car is not 100% supported by stands, you don't stick any extremities under it.
This is the second time something like this happens. It is sad and thoughts go out to the family.
I always feel vulnerable when I go under there (even to unbolt the oil drain plug) and take multiple precautions, jack, and jack stand, and sometimes, a wheel.
How sad. I remember reading the other thread awhile ago.
My friend did an awesome job jacking and standing my car for me while I did my cooling system refresh last month but I still felt nervous.
I'll be buying these before I get under my car again. Yes they're not cheap but in the grand scheme of things....

Guys, never be in a rush under your cars, and always think of what "might" happen.
I treat maintenance under my car, as a "get in, get out" type of operation, though I've found myself looking up at random shit and cleaning it, or just looking up at random shit. Then I think, "What the hell am I doing? "

Sad to hear things like this happening.
These kinds of events always remind me to double check all safety precautions whenever I'm working under my car.
RIP
What a sad story. RIP
I always imagine my jack stands failing when I'm setting up my car to work under it - gives me the chills enough to triple-check everything and add backup.
I don't remember who it was who said to do this, Kyle maybe? But now whenever I take a wheel off and get under the car I put it under the car close to where I'll be working. So if the car falls for some reason at least the wheel helps a little. If I'm not taking a wheel off I just use ramps.
Even with all that though, I'm still terrified to get under there.
