I've never had a plastic impeller implode on the three E46s (at 60k, 165k, 171k) & one E39 (145k). There have been some changes made to the materials. Get whichever you feel safest with.

Get a water pump with a composite impeller. The metal ones have bearing issues from what I heard.
The composite impeller is the "latest and greatest" part.
Thanks to all the responses. Learning a lot. I think I need to do more research and be patient.
Will change to the Saleri WP (read quite a bit on E46 and saw Mango also recommending the same: Composite vs metal)
I might simplify the list a bit and perhaps go with something similar to the FCP kit as suggested for now.
I might also run all this by the indie BMW mechanic and see what he thinks.
