Over the past few days, my radio has started to pop, crackle and buzz. Within five minutes, that's all you hear. The really strange thing is this happens (with far less frequency) when the radio is turned off. Bad amp?

Over the past few days, my radio has started to pop, crackle and buzz. Within five minutes, that's all you hear. The really strange thing is this happens (with far less frequency) when the radio is turned off. Bad amp?
I would check connections at amp in the left rear wheel fender area. Accessible through trunk.
Then check behind the unit in dash. But if it makes this noise when car is stationary, you may be right and something is on its way out.
