hey, i just removed one from the 2005 ZHP parts car i just dismantled, and it came off in 2min.... you just need to know the tricks... :)
1. there are two 'slots' in the flange on the end of the driveshaft, where it meets the diff - spray liberally with PB Blaster and wait 15min
2. grab a chisel and a 5lb sledge
3. insert chisel into one of the slots - hammer in and pry back at the same time; alternate slots
The one thing to watch out for on the pumpkin is making sure the new one has the right input flange. The output flanges are easy to change (don’t forget the C-clips), but changing the input flange is to be avoided (at least by the uninitiated) as it’s more involved and, I hear, somewhat tricky.
