I honestly can't tell a difference in the noise level without that insulation. I drive on the freeway a lot, often over 75mph, and the car sounds the same with the insulation in place.
The crayon smell is gone though and I don't miss it at all.

technik headers being installed as we speak :)
audio to follow soon, i'm going to ask my wife to record the car on a "closed course"
update: went back to eurocharged this morning, got a re-flash with a file for catless headers. much more mid-range torque, the upper rpm power is noticeably higher, too. butt dyno is somewhat unreliable, however. i'm working to find a weekday to get flashed back to stock for a baseline, then dyno tuned by jerry@eurocharged. i have a feeling that technik headers + custom eurocharged tune will yield pretty nice numbers (for an n/a 3.0L, that is)
dane- the car is way louder, almost too much volume now :S
i'm hoping to get a muffler shop to install an x-pipe or replace one of the resonators with a resontated x-pipe from magnaflow. the tone is great and throaty, but the volume is too much for me (i like a lower profile car, not a hey-look-at-me exhaust note/volume)
pics of interior/undercarriage after recent mods?!
:thumbsup
gold DISA valve works wonders on the 4k rpm dip. highly recommended! (thanks, webster for the recommendation)
passed state inspection today. with catless headers. (shh)
They didn't even........
