Just came across this post of mine from 2017 where I mentioned never checking my spare and then when finally doing it finding it flat. So do you think I've checked it since then? Nope..... but I got out there right immediately after reading this again.... :thumbsup It's still holding air.
For me the spare might be the most neglected item on my maintenance checklist - but it could burn ya if you never check it. Maybe it's time to put this on my calendar
I plan to buy a new spare tire for the trunk. Mine is around 15 y/o by now, and it appears never been used. But due to age it needs to go. Luckily I also have a full size spare tire handy.
my E92 spare is this:
Genuine BMW All Series Mobility Kit https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-BMW...AAAOSwwqVcBRaB
Still got mine from my former ZHP. Just went on a 600 mile road trip so I needed to recheck everything before leaving. It had no air in it so I used my OEM compressor to bring it up to super high psi. I always have a tire plug kit too which I use over the space saver unless the sidewall was punctured...

I keep meaning to buy a 17 or 18 Apex wheel from their Scratch’n’Dent list to have a full size spare because the donut doesn’t come close to clearing my front caliper.
Need some quick advice. Got new wheels for the X5 but the fronts are an inch narrower than the OEM wheels:8.5 vs 9.5
The tires are 275/40/20
Is this going to be a problem?
