My son installed a new alternator in my ZHP, his first "major" fix, and then he dressed (ballast, ignitor, Xenon bulb) and installed a new right-side headlight (left was replaced with a new one last...
Not sure I wanna try launch mode, but nice to know it's there.
The 535 is a great complement to the ZHP. Super comfortable cruiser, with enough power to move effortlessly, but not enough to get me...
Thanks! So far I love it. 2015 CPO 535i (no xDrive), Space Gray/black. Drives like a dream!
Got the ZHP a companion, 10 years younger:

Holy cow, YES that's reasonable!!
Could be my imagination, but the respray really makes the black cube pop. Here are the bits I did a year or so ago. They still look great.

No clear coat. The stuff I did previously has held up well, particularly the shifter surround, which sees the most action. I don't have ANY chips/scratches--it still looks as good as the day I did...
Thanks! I did the same on my dash trim and shifter surround a year or two back, and it's held up really well. Technique is just 4 light coats, waiting a couple of minutes between coats. I was afraid...
Restored the passenger door pull. 15 minutes to carefully mask the door, a little Krylon black satin paint, and a new switch plug. Great result:

Doing the driver...
I got lucky, as I didn't have any scratches. I just wiped it down with a damp cloth, then painted a couple of coats of Krylon black satin. Great result.
It's a brand new OEM wheel, which includes the trim. Got the airbag replaced under recall recently.
A while back I also replaced the ashtray and cubbie with OEM pieces, and restored the Black...

Even after cleaning up the Alcantara, it wasn't doing it for me. So it'll be safely stored away while I enjoy new leather.
Repaired the stupid broken headlight wiring AGAIN, expoxied the broken bumper brackets back on and re-set bumper, and painted the lower grill a nice satin black. Having a neighborhood lift sure is...
Replaced a failing xenon ballast, put my cleaned-up alcantara steering wheel back on.
Thanks Shawn. I ended up with $25 for 6 months, and it seems like a yearly renegotiation with my main account. Gotta keep on top of these folks, else they'll take you for all your're worth!
After a couple of false starts where my CD53 radio wouldn't recognize the Sirius module, I finally got it working. I looked up the Radio Service Mode Settings, and it turns out my radio was coded for...
Cheaper ones were available that look the same for 1/4 the cost, but I went genuine BMW from FCP Euro. I'm just particular that way.
I like it. It's a pump bottle, and it comes out as a foam so it's easy to control and it more or less stays where you put it. Plus it smells good--kind of a mild fruity smell, definitely not a strong...

That's the next project, along with re-mounting the front bumper.

My hood sealing gasket was perfect at 113k.
I did this today. What a difference!
