How are your Hankook fronts? And are they the 2nd gen tire?
Pretty even wear for rear tires.
Are those Hankooks ? Look like their tread pattern
No issues that I remember with the BMW trans fluid either in NJ or here in SC. My first change was at 80K. I was starting to get a little gear whine. After the change it went away. I changed again at...
There you go... direct from the mfr. Supports what everyone is experiencing with thicker oils... thanks for posting
I just use the BMW manual trans fluid.... no issues ever
So now that the clutch has broken in, any changes on you initial thoughts above?
Will do, Tnx!
Yes I have to do the clutch next. The Sach performance or stock is the direction I'm going. I'm not looking for a lot of HP over 300 at the rear wheels...
Ok good info!
Ok thanks. I have some heavy vibration and I'm pretty sure it's the flywheel. Your findings reinforce that thought. The torque specs will help too!
Is the rear main seal & tool OEM ?
Nice progress!
Was there any play in the old flywheel like Peter had?
Good find! I need the foam but don't want to buy that whole piece
The MDX has DWS's on it and it still gets flat spots in the cold...and they are only a couple of months old. They go away within a couple of minutes
It was 43 and raining here in Charleston... I feel like I'm back in Jersey. The Conti's on the MDX had flat spots this morning...
Nothing special. Probably the same one you and Peter got
Lol sounds good!
Looks like I'll be doing my clutch sooner than later... bad Vibration around 2000rpm and some chatter from the flywheel... gonna be paying close attention to your progress :)
Looks good! I wouldn't say you went overboard... all of those parts are wear items. When I do my clutch, I'll be replacing all that too...
I would think a little gear chatter couldn't hurt anything compared to the stress on the gears under full power...
Good to know! Thanks VAS and Peter for sharing
Is that the same one Peter got for his wagon?
Lol that sounds familiar
I'd move that LSD to the top of the list :)
A propane torch will work but it will take longer. Propane doesn't burn as hot as other gases. You want to get the nut cherry red.
