We only notice it during long trips at speed in high humidity. Can you leave your car parked outside on the rain overnight and check the floorboard in the morning? That would help your root cause

Get a Vanos gasket too! I forgot that one. Definitely need one of those.
Yup, go Besian. By the time you pull the vanos assembly off, it takes another 30 minutes of work to open it up and replace the seals. Just print off the instructions from his site and follow along....
