As coincidental as it sounds, one of those is the only conclusion I can come to. On the plus side, doing the DISA swap was the first bit of DIY I've done outside of regular maintenance in quite some...
A replacement radiator has been sitting in my apartment for several months now, I just need to stop being lazy. Still, cannot figure out why the car is seemingly reaching operating temp in a normal...
Well that I am aware of, but until Tuesday, it would take probably 15 minutes of driving for it to reach 12 o'clock. I wonder if it has to do with me filling it up that night... Normally, when my car...
I'll start with the question and then give the background, in case someone does actually know this: Is there any way possible that a failing DISA could affect the operation of the thermostat?
OK,...
All done, man what a difference. On a side note, Loctite Super Glue Ultra Controlled Dispense Gel is awesome.
Welp, as Murphy's law would have it, I pulled the DISA valve off and the flap fell right out. I just went ahead and got the beefy replacement. On a side note, when trying to get the intake plumbing...
Yea, until a few more weeks, cant drop for it just yet, but as mentioned, if I can get this done fairly easy, then I will go ahead and buy the full kit in the next couple weeks and swap it out...
What is the time frame that these usually fail? Mine is an 01, and from what I can tell was never replaced. Will they all sooner or later fail? Am I past the usual fail point? For now, I only have...
I can't view the video right now, but I imagine all that I need to remove is the air intake plumbing, just for access to the two screws, right?
Any recommendations on the grease to use? GAS site just says to use the supplied "synthetic grease", I figured I could use something similar at a local parts store, but want to make sure I do not get...
Thanks for the vid! The shop I had my car at was pretty sure the valve should be in good shape, he just said "you've got a massive leak at that o-ring", so hopefully the mac-daddy o-ring from GAS is...
So I had to have a shop help me replace an exhaust cam shaft position sensor as the head was stripped, and was hoping that was the cause of my bad idle. The shop said my DISA oring was bad, but not...
Is "Basic Module #5" the same thing as the GM5?
Who ever re-shared that on Facebook, thanks. I can't believe I have not seen this video yet.
It is not indicative of low refrigerant. Low refrigerant would not have cool air one moment then warm the next over and over. It is likely what LiveNearCosco said. There is also a water valve under...
Good lord, I remember this headache when I did my belts for the first time and replaced pulleys too.
Isn't this the same system spaghetti coder had previously, but they shut it down, presumably due to BMW being mad about it or something?
Edit: Well, looks like Spaghetti Coder is completely down...
I have the clown nose blinking without an alarm, and yes, after locking the car and the turn signals flashing, after a short period of time it starts to blink slowly, but not 30 seconds after... It...
Cant remember either, it's either B or E. Just measure. If the insert is 6.5mm wide, then it is B. See here: http://www.sherco-auto.com/images/lexorinsert.jpg
Based on the phone number on the for sale sign, and a Google search of the realtor, he's in my area in "the Burg", or at least Pinellas County. If so, and need a good shop, go to D'Elegance; I take...
I would have been shocked to find out you had an alarm with the chirping disabled.
I can't load photobucket at work, but browsing realoem.com myself, is this it: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES169859/
The piece that swings in the middle of your wiper arm? Yes, it is replaceable.
Fairly easy to install from what I understand. You have the under the hood piece, dome piece, a trunk piece, and the siren. Then it is just a matter of programming it to turn on.
These are the pieces for my model. I think #3, the ultrasonic detector, is what goes into the dome thing behind your sunroof.
