Fredo,
If they aren't adding weights they aren't properly aligning the car to BMW specs. Rear camber on our cars can be finicky so that is a potential reason, but with it being that far out likely...
Not uncommon at all.
Did they add weight to the car to get it to the correct ride height? BMW specs are expecting the car to be at a specific height, it will definitely affect rear camber...
Correct, stock size of 255/35/18.
255/40/18 is 1" taller than stock
We regularly put 18x9 et42 with 255 tires on lowered cars without any issue.
Your setup pushes the wheel out 7mm, but running a 10mm narrower tire still leaves the sidewall 2mm further than mine...
Have you done any maint/repairs to the car lately?
I would like to get my hands on an NOS E46 strut mount from the mid 2000s to measure. I really think they must have been shorter than the E90 but its hard to say for sure. When I was at the...
We've come to find out that the E46 strut mount has been superseded to an E9x part number and I suspect it is dimensionally taller than the E46 used to be which then raises the front end ride height....
The ground straps bolt from the coil to the valve cover stud. If you don't have bolt in coils there is nothing to attach them too.
The difference is MS42/43 vs MS45.x engine management, not ZHP vs non.
On early cars, the secondary air non return valve is opened via vacuum, so you have the solenoid valve pictured that allows...

Unfortunately they are both parts car, but essentially complete. The p/o listed one on FB, it is still a complete running and driving car but was hit in the drivers b-pillar and is totaled. I went to...

My client bought it, we found it 6hrs after posting and he was already at least 2nd in line.
It'll be getting an N55/6MT swap :cool
Great pics! Love that interior.
I guess I don't know what a simple refresh is in your mind, lol. Figure a long block from BMW is $16k, Carbon plenum and its trimmings are $3k minimum, Headers/Exhaust to pair with the intake figured...
$40k minimum for how I you would imagine you'd want it done.
Its hard to find a good donor for that price, let alone any PM, labor, mods, etc.
Doing it DIY and nicely that number is probably still low.
TS2 or 3... Or Syncro Design Works turbo kit.
The ITB setup I don't think is going to yield much for hp gains on a stock long block.
All good, I really want to make this kit work.
I'm going to revisit it this year and see what I can make happen.
RRD = Rabid Racing Development. :)
This is of interest to me, it's be a year? since I looked into this so some of this info may be old but still could be noteworthy. I bought a RRD M54 adapter kit:
1. It does not clear the M54 oil...
Is the dye safe for cooling systems? If so, I'd leave it.
For bleeding, the internet is full of ways to do this, but I've done it basically one way for almost 20yrs without issue.
I remove the...
