Its now running fine. The challenge is that it comes and goes.....intermittent problems are always a pain....

Have a strange problem, dunno if a common issue or not.
Net is that I can be cruising at 3000 rpm or whatever, take the foot off the gas and if out of gear, the rpm drops really fast all the way...
went to this thread because of the other more recent thread.......great to hear they just snap in.....any link or info how to get the old ones off? I don't want to think about prying on the mirror...

yeah check engine light came on, and the codes above were available.........
just to close.....it turned out to be the usual deterioration of the snorkel tube on the Y intake tube. Wow, what PITA to get the old one off.....amazing.
Replaced the Y intake tube, had the usual 70K hole in the snorkel.........this one was a real PIA....over an hour to get the lower tube off due to the hoseclamp positions...wow. FInally ended cutting...
Google the codes.........gee whiz I shoulda tried that.....doh! I was stuck on the short description from Pip and at least our thinking is in line. thanks Pip.

What took the most time was finding the darn black connector for the mike. I thought I had unwrapped and examined everything, and then as a last ditch thought...
excellent- thats super helpful, I was trying to use the white connector....and the black one is the right one.....will check it out today!
