I'll have to check it out, but I don't recall that requirement. I installed them along with brand new OEM struts, I would've gone aftermarket if I'd known.... but that doesn't mean I didn't...

Depends on back spacing. 10mm spacers seem common and it looks like I have room but it seems to be some educated guesswork as to what will fit based on back spacing, ride height, and spring rate.

I've added about 2.5 gallons so far but that includes quite a bit of bleeding. I did not take the extra steps to drain the motor of coolant so there probably was some residual.
