Ended up selling the drawer platform as I want to go in a different direction - bed slide (getting installed tomorrow).
I ordered sliders about 1.5 months ago and today they finally went on the...
On the flip side, the new car will come with new technology, new safety features, and warranty. No to mention all new mechanical parts that don't have 12 years of life on them, drying rubber parts,...
Got the truck detailed.
All pinstripes are 100% gone - even the ones you could feel with your nail. Not even a trace remaining of them. Deep shine all over. Truck did not look this good when it...
There is nothing you can do against laser, short of jamming it, which is usually illegal. Nothing wrong with your radar detector - they can't detect what's not there, and it sounds like that cop...
Whatever you prefer, get the best available at the time of purchase. With a radar detector every split second matters, so buying something that'll give you short warning is pointless. You want to...

Created a bug screen for one of the rear doors by "framing" the screen material with duct tape. Quick, easy, works like a charm:

Thanks!
I normally bring two mattresses when I go camping: a fairly large Thermarest that I give the dog, and a slightly smaller, yet much more compact and better insulating mattress for myself....
Thanks, guys.
Officially all done!
I put 1/2" blocks of wood to act as spacers in the very front to prevent the drawer from dragging on the tailgate - much better now. Also carpeted + mounted...
95% done.
Turned around for 5 minutes to take a break, and someone decided to test out the drawer:

Mounted frame in the truck. Think that's enough bearings?...
Today I made the drawer, sealed it with Thomson's WaterSeal, and carpeted most of it. Also finished mounting all bearings on the frame.
I think/hope tomorrow this project will be done and mounted...
Bearings... bearings everywhere. Tight grouping towards the front for extra support when the drawer is extended, wider spacing everywhere else.
Massive overkill? Why not...

Amazing ZHP. Guessing EAG will scoop this one up in no time.
Making some slow, but steady progress on the platform...
Added a small strip at the very front to square-off the box and add a little bit more rigidity. This fits beneath the "grooves" of the...
My Indy said exactly the same thing not only about the 335i, but any post-E46 BMW. I loved my 335i, but wouldn't want to own a higher-mileage one (ie. more than ~60k miles on the ODO) out of cost...
+1.
Both the 335i and M3 will be expensive to maintain. The S2000 is a wicked car with a crazy following. I'd say keep the ZHP as a DD, get the S2000 for top-down fun on the weekend.s
Amazing car. Huge congrats, Charlie!
My ProClip USA cellphone mount holder finally arrived. I've used their products in my last two cars (three if you count the Tacoma) and am a huge fan. Expensive, but so worth it.

Too bad I didn't have anything to dress the tires. Would have made it so much better!
A tent for now. You can actually see it behind my truck in the first photo.
The lake was awesome, but at 12am some clowns on ATVs showed up from some neighbouring lake/site and spent the next 5...

Now to unpack, wash the truck and give it its first wax.
Camera is a G1WH. They're all over eBay for about $50 (last time I checked). I use a class 10, 32GB memory card - $25. To hardwire it into the vehicle you'll also need a 12V -> 5V step-down...
Pulled out of the parking lot yesterday to go do some more work on the platform, but accidentally left my tailgate and canopy open. Realized this less than block away, pulled over and saw that I had...
Because Vancouver is full of narcissistic, holier-than-thou assholes without a shred of decency or common sense. Many people would be perfectly okay with you losing a couple limbs if that meant they...
I love Vancouver. Just can't get enough of this shit (NSFW audio):

Started looking around for actual drawer slides and am very disappointed at the prices I'm seeing. Seems impossible to get 60" slides for anything under ~$220USD... and that would be just one set - I...
