OK, guys... So a follow-up on my earlier question about my coolant leak. It looks like a pressure relief plug on the expansion tank is leaking, at least to me. But I went ahead and started a thread...

OK, guys... So a follow-up on my earlier question about my coolant leak. It looks like a pressure relief plug on the expansion tank is leaking, at least to me. But I went ahead and started a thread...
I think my post might have been confusing... The puddle of coolant I found was two feet in front of the car, i.e. two feet *away* from the car. I don't see anything at all under the car, but I need...
Thanks! I'll try to tear into it tonight and see what I can find out and report back.

OK, so I went to take the ZHP to C&C this morning, and figured out the puddle in front of the car that I thought was water yesterday isn't water. It's coolant. I checked the overflow tank and sure...
Just looked up all the X3 brake parts on FCP Euro, and the total comes to about $525. That means the indie shop is getting about $275 for labor. Seems very fair to me.
For that kind of money, I...
Thanks so much guys! Appreciate the feedback! I'll see what I can find for parts this weekend and see how the dollars work out.
Cheers,

Quick question for you guys... Wifey's '07 X3 break pad indicator just came on. Front rotor definitely has a serious lip on it. 46k miles on the car. Knew it was coming. Local indie shop I like...
Yeah, I remember seeing the video and thinking it sounded nice, but then reading that some people were saying it didn't sound that different from stock, which then made me go back to the "delete"...
Quick question for the gang... I want a little more sound from the ZHP. More rumble at idle, more burble on downshift, and a little healthier sound when I stand on it. I'm not interested in spending...

This! Just did my wife's X3 this spring, and that's exactly what would happen... Nothing for awhile, then a drip of oil would fall onto the exhaust manifold and we'd get a giant whiff of...
OK, at least I'm not crazy. That's what I would have expected.
So, the question is, did I literally break the switch when I was cleaning it, or is there a way to not get the plug reinstalled...
Weird issue... I had the trim plate around the gear shift off to clean before reinstalling Coby shift knob and boot, so I had removed the plugs from the window switches. When I put it all back...
Oops. Dane beat me to it.

I don't know which part it is specifically on the e46, but it sounds like the bearing on an idler, tensioner, or possibly a driven accessory.
The problem with driving it is if something does seize...
Looks familiar!

I like it for exactly the same reason.

Thank you, sir! Moving that stuff up the list!

I think my post got lost in the barrage of Bluetooth/telematics posts. Any thoughts on the guibo or creaky rear suspension?
Thanks!!!

I think this is why some people recommend a drain-and-fill as opposed to a flush. The drain/refill doesn't stir up crap like the flush.

Interested in the Bluetooth discussion. My car has nav, but no Assist so no Bluetooth, and not interested in spending $678 on it. Might have to be an eBay pickup at some point.
OK, so two random...
Oh,and thanks for all the input on the illuminated shift knob too, guys. So, I could order the illuminated knob from the link, order the ///M-color tri-stitch boot from Coby, and put it all together...
LOLs. Agreed. Probably lean toward black, but I like the colors, too. I've never seen it before, so that's cool!

<giant Tim Taylor inquisitive sound>
Definitely interested. No big rush. THANKS!
I wonder if I could just send it to Coby along with my wheel and and have him do it all up at the same time with...
OK, so I tried searching for this and couldn't find anything relatively current...
Has anybody installed an illuminated shift knob recently? It looks like there used to be an eBay seller selling...
OOohhh, I had a question about nav, too. Mine is super, super-old. My house was built in 2005 - the year after the car was built - and my street (and in fact most of my suburb) isn't in the GPS....
