If the injectors aren't leaking and the check valve is keeping gas in the fuel rail at least somewhat pressurized, you shouldn't need to wait more than about a second to have sufficient fuel pressure...
On other BMWs, I've had Meyel bushings wear out prematurely. Supposedly they've pushed to improve quality in the last year or so, but I'm not willing to find out. Go with the factory parts.
