There are a few threads about this. It will definitely work. I'm going to go square 8.5 myself soon. 245/35 or 235/45 seem to be common tire sizes on our 18'sx8.5 square. You can also go with the four rear 255 sizes all the way around, but some people say that makes the steering feel heavier in the front.

I have 255's on all four corners. Steering is noticeably heavier than on 4 x 225 winters.

I have the staggered OEM setup, 8.0 front 8.5" rear. Would it be okay to run 235/40/18 all around or will that be too wide for front or too narrow for rear? I just ordered new staggered tires at Costco but am thinking of canceling order and changing to 235/40/18 square. My 2nd wheel set is 245/40/17 on square set of 17x8.5. (Wish I'd bought those as 17x9 but that's in the past.)

Or maybe I should just order the 2 fronts. The OEM rear wheels have at least 2000 miles of tread left.. not sure $70 rebate is worth keeping 2 extra tires stored for 4, or 5 months, which is what happened last time I ordered 4 tires at once to save $70. Or I need a drift event to finish off the rears.

Should be fine. Rears will look a tad stretched-maybe (sidewall profile). Fronts will be perfect.

Thanks, Dane. I knew you were running square and thought it was 235 all around, but just saw in your signature it's 245-40-18 on 18x8.
