Has anyone sent their radio unit to have the power button/volume control replaced?

My power button is almost officially dead, I had to play with it for about 30 seconds just to get it to turn on this afternoon. I read a few DIY's and watched the video on Youtube.com and I think it may be worth it for me to spend the $70 instead of trying to fix it myself.

Has anyone sent their unit to this guy before?

I just turn the volume down. It's always on for me.

I fixed mine with crazy glue a year ago. About an hour's worth of work. Works fine.

I fixed mine too. It is not hard to do. Take it out, open the top of the unit and you will see that the little circuit board behind the button is moving. Fixed it with a small piece of balsa wood and hot glue. Been Ok for 3 years now.

I have the same problem and I just turn the volume down if I want to so call "power off". I just leave the knob partially attached to the spline.

I fixed mine around 8 months ago. Took like 40 minutes of work, then I waited overnight for the glue to dry. It has been perfect ever since then
