"A" mode on Nikon D40...I must have done something wrong...it doesn't look very sharp...
However I like the setting sun reflecting on the wheels and making them look dark (dirty/brake dust-) gold.

A mode generally sux. Tho there are probably better books (bythom.com?) this one from Ken Rockwell which is free may help you understand your camera better...
