    License Plates

In Wisconsin (like many other states) it is illegal not to have a license plate mounted on the front of the car. I really would like to find a way around this, because I feel it really takes away from the overall look of the car. What have you guys done and what would you suggest me to do about this little "legal" issue?

I like it, but I'm not sure the full benefit, as the car will still have a plate in the front. We are required to have front plates in CA too, and while lots of people don't, I want mine on so that's one less reason to get pulled over (or get a ticket while parked). Dane, it looks like that took a little work, and I like it.... so what was your reasoning for doing it? With your pic from the side, it's hard to tell the overall effect of a plate on the side vs. the front center. John

I think Dane did it that way so that he would not have to drill into the bumper of the car. No drill holes. If I ever adopt the front plate, I will do something like Dane's. I don't want a bunch of holes in the bumper.

With my car being black, could I get a license plate cover that is tinted black so that the white/red doesn't stand out as much? Would that be legal?

Additionally...if I want sezzy x-rated shots....I can spin it out and go for the shaved look.

Hmmm, mine already had those, but I bought mine used... so you think the PO did that, or did BMW have versions with the holes already drilled (maybe CA cars, for example?)

When I've ordered cars in the past, I have instructed the dealer to NOT drill holes. They didn't. If you don't tell the dealers anything, they will drill and install license plate on car. Boo!

That might have happened with your PO.

Laws of every state are different. Most require the plate to be visible from a certain distance.
