Sean's E46 M3 Maintenance and Project Thread

Sean, congrats, car looks great, we need more pictures. I just went through exactly what you are going through. Ever since I bought my first e46 back in 2003, I longed for the e46 m3. To my eye, it was the perfect car. Aggressive looks and a tightly wound performance S54 engine. I loved my ZHP, a 2004 Orient Blue/Gray leather, 6mt with 78,000 miles. I struggled for weeks over having to part with her. I then I found a 2006 Interlagos Blue, 6mt, black leather interior, zcp with only 19,000 miles...and it was local. Wifey gave me the thumbs up and I knew if I went and drove it I would buy it. I held off for another week then went. It was over. Bought it cash the next day. Derrick, you really can't compare the ZHP against the ///M. Two very different cars in my opinion. Both have very unique characteristics that I thoroughly enjoy, which is why I ended up having both

One thing I really like about my ZHP over the ///M is that it has 4 doors. Having a coupe is nice, especially when its an /// M but there are times when having 4 doors is much more desirable

That's why I mentioned to Sean if possible it would be awesome for him to be able to keep both cars :

I agree with you. Different cars, both with many positives. It was nice having the ZHP sedan for my two kids.

Did my first valve adjustment last night.

Took a while but I'm positive when I need to do it next it will be a piece of cake. I was planning on doing the belts, but I managed to break off the top of one of those plastic pins that expand and hold the fan shroud on. Now I need creator ideas to get it off.

I'm open to suggestions.
