I believe 2011+ BMW have A2DP protocol available for BT streaming. BT 1.0 did not offer stereo and does not have the bandwidth to support stereo streaming.
I do not know if a non-nav 2011+ has A2DP streaming though.
Oh ya, thanks Derek. A2DP rings the bell now, as music streaming needs ample bandwidth to maintain quality. Word on the street, although the sound quality is still not quite as good as with a wired connection, the A2DP does a respectable job for daily use.

have you tried E46F? there was a fellow looking for BT if I recall.
