OMG yes. This is exactly what I thought the headers with the Perf Exhaust would sound like.

Ok so my big question that has kept me from buying headers is.......in light load / normal around town driving how loud is it.? And is there highway drone?

    Other than that sounds amazing.

Curious to these questions as well. Sounds fantastic. How much of a difference is there between the ZHP muffler and BMW Perf. muffler? Or are they the same?

They are different, but really not much difference to buy one. I've seen and heard 'em side by side. It doesn't hurt of course, and the sound changes some, but not much really. I know some people got them at good prices when they near the bottom of inventory… so if you didn't have an aftermarket exhaust and got one cheap, I'd say that's not bad.

This current setup drones but because of the magnaflow mid section. The magnaflow makes it louder than most people would consider "comfortable", and even so with the stock manifolds. At WOT it sounds terrific, and it's very quiet at low RPM. however, on the highway it drones... A lot.

That's why I'm swapping my stock ZHP mid section on after I modify it a bit.

Headers are a great mod. If you pair them with a stock exhaust system you will notice a drastic change in sound, but the level of sound pretty much stays within the comfort zone you are used to with stock manifolds. Though headers + mid-section may alter that. Like in my scenario.

So if you're worried about headers being to loud or droning, don't worry. They won't! I have plenty of friends around here with e46 non-ms + m's with headers.

I love the BMW performance muffler. It sounds like a stock ZHP muffler but is slightly louder at high revs and IMHO I think it looks much better.
