Installed headers, have both rich and lean codes......

Anyone with headers want to pontificate a reason why my car would throw both lean and rich codes?

Granted, my car has a lot of codes since the header install. And I deleted my smog pump too so that added to the mix.

But tonight I removed my old CVV from my manifold and just ran the codes for giggles. This time I have p2272 (02 sensor bank 2 stuck lean), but I also have p0175 and p0172 (Banks 1 and 2 running rich). So how can it be lean and rich at the same time?

I know my 02 sensors bungs were in such a way that one 02 sensor is mighty close to the other header pipes, could it be ruined as a result?

Should mention it has been close to a month with the headers, car still runs HARD, idles perfect and has no driveability issues. I have not reset adaptions since I installed the headers either.

I have no idea. But I did realize after posting that the 2272 is bank 2 sensor 2 so I'm not worried about it. I thought it was a pre cat sensor code

Ok, think this one backwards. 0175 & 0172 state burning too rich, so have you done anything that could possibly be restricting airflow? If so then you're not getting enough air to mix with the fuel on hand & the ECU thinks it's burning rich. If not and you still have the stock air cleaner with these headers then I think that's the problem. Add a CAI which will deliver more air and see if corrects the 75 & 72 codes. When you make an engine exhaust itself better, you have to also make it breath better too.

Yep, I have an intake, brand new MAF, brand new 02 sensors etc. I am sure the car is running rich due to the headers, hoping a DME tune will take care of that.
