Fuel pumps can die from 60k to 175k, so it's mostly dumb luck.

If you want peace of mind, go for it.

Meanwhile, I was thinking of going with the H&R Sport Cup kit Turner Motorsport sells,

but they also sell an H&R/Bilstein setup

Does anyone have any experience with either?
I was told that the H&R kit actually uses Bilstein shocks. I have the Touring Cup Kit.

Air Intake question as it relates to CA SMOG:
    1) Are the BMW Perf Intakes technically SMOG legal or do they just pass because they look the part?
    2) Are the Gruppe M intakes technically SMOG legal?
    3) I got a renewal notice with a "randomly selected" (older vehicles, etc.) appearance at a Star SMOG station, which is a more in-depth inspection than standard SMOG. I was thinking that I should swap out an intake before if necessary, but I can't seem to find the right information as to what that inspection entails.

The intake will only be legal if you have a CARB sticker. They referenced my sticker for my KN very thoroughly. I also got through with my extensive coding from manual swap, some kind of EVAP code, and burying my catch can under the intake

You will need a CARB sticker to get a part to pass. The BMW performance intake would probably fly under the radar because its OE looking & says BMW on it.

To me, swapping an intake out is less of a headache then having to go back to the facility retest. That's how I look at it. I can take my intake out and back in in under 10 minutes.

Yup, figured I'd probably have to change out the intake. Thanks.

That's what I did. I ran that thing till it died. Swapped it out at a rest stop right after it gave up the ghost.
